bing-vs-googleAccording to the data of Web Metrics Firm Net Application, Bing’s share in the global market of search engines dipped from 3.52 in August to 3.39 in September. A surprising finding was that the leading search engine Google also had a reduction in market share, as they went from 83.33 to 81.13 percent this month.

Even though Yahoo! Maintained their position as the second most used search engine world wide, they also faced a huge dip in market share from 7.28 to 6.84.

At the same time, about 3 days ago, according to analysis conduced by web analytics firm StatCounter, Bing’s monthly market share in the United States, and throughout the globe, has fallen for the first time since its launch. Yes, they gain the conclusion that Bing loses bit of momentum in Google chase.

Bing’s fall was in no way significant, but it was their first nevertheless. This is relevant because only few weeks ago it had been revealed by comScore Inc. and Nielson Co. that Bing was doing well and had seen an increase in its share in the search engine market. But now, it has to meet its first dip since launch.

Of course, the fact that Bing lost market share over a month shouldn’t be too much of a concern. After all, Microsoft has a perfect template in Firefox to refer to when figuring out how to compete with an established giant in any field. Perhaps we will be amazed by Microsoft some day.
