Xm.my—Short Links for Google Maps
With the popularity of Twitter abd other microblogging websites, URL shortener services are becoming more and more popular too. In fact, there are various shorteners. Today, I will introduce a unique service called Xm.my to you.
This new service stands as a valuable complement to Google Maps. In general terms, it will let you create a URL with any place that you have come across and want to share with others. The resulting link is also accompanied by a short comment that you set down in order to explain what it is you are sending forth.
All you have to do is find the place by typing in its name, and once the location has been chosen you merely add the text that should go with it. You there and then save the map and proceed to share it in the way you want: e-mail, Facebook, Twitter…
A system like this one will lend itself magnificently to the arrangement of events of any kind – birthdays, weddings, bar mitzvahs… the list is endless, as it encompass any kind of activity where providing others with directions is mandatory. And now that the festive season is drawing closer by the second, keeping a site like this one in mind is certain to come in handy.
